Location: State Parole Board located in Trenton, NJ Status: Per Diem
Credential Requirement: Licensed as a clinical psychologist in the State of New Jersey.
Valid Driver’s License. Must possess own vehicle.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree in psychology, trained in psychological testing and measurement. Two (2) years of post-doctorate experience preferable in a correctional/forensic setting. Requires a licensed as a psychologist in the State of New Jersey.
Note: Psychologist at a masters level with experience at testing are eligible at a Mental Health Clinician II level. The duties would otherwise be comparable to this position.
Must be approved by the New Jersey State Parole Board (NJSPB) and adhere to all NJSPB requirements. Employees will be subject to and must comply with all security regulations and procedures of NJSPB. Violations of NJSPB rules and regulations and/or being banned by the NJSPB to work at a NJSPB site are grounds for a disciplinary action and potential termination.
Responsibilities: Completes specialized psychological testing and assessment of clinical needs of adults offenders sentenced to the New Jersey State Parole Board (NJSPB). Arrives at DSM IV multi-axial diagnoses with precision and accuracy by the end of psychological testing and the evaluation session. Develops treatment plans. Makes clinically based decisions regarding appropriateness for treatment, as well as preferred treatment modality. Assesses and makes referrals for higher levels of care, as appropriate. Demonstrates competency in psychological testing and in recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of adult offenders (ages 18 – 64), seniors (ages 65+) and their families. Skilled in testing and in providing crisis intervention, group and individual therapies.
